This switching unit will be used to simulate HF antennas in the frequency range 1.5 … 30 MHz. It can simulate two 3-channel Watson-Watt antennas.

Design

The switching unit is housed in a 2 U 19“ subrack with very good RF shielding and consists of the following sub-assemblies:

-    2- and 3-way power dividers
-    solid-state switches SPDT
-    attenuators
-    processor board
-    LAN interface

All the necessary signal, power supply and earthing connections are provided at the rear.
The mains switch is located on the front panel.

Control

The unit is controlled via a LAN interface.

The unit is constructed using a modular approach utilising 19” plug-in sub-assemblies which enable ease of installation and maintenance.
