Switching unit


The switching unit is used for the processor controlled switching and attenuation of RF signals in the frequncy range DC … 3 GHz. It is used in the test department.


The switching unit is housed in a 3 U 19“ subrack with very good RF shielding and consists of the following sub-assemblies:

-    isolator
-    solid-state switches SPDT with termination
-    power divider
-    adjustabel attenuator
-    I/O board
-    Processor board
-    IEEE488 interface

All the necessary power supply and earthing connections are provided at the rear.
The mains switch and the signal connections are located on the front panel.


The unit is controlled via an IEEE488 interface.

Special features

The I/O boards are monitored in a processor routine.
A status string can also be requested at any time via the control interface.
The unit is constructed using a modular approach utilising 19” plug-in sub-assemblies which enable ease of installation and maintenance.
